Dear Chariho Youth Soccer Parents & Players,
On behalf of my assistants and of course the players here at the University of Rhode Island, I would like to say thanks for being such a big part of our win versus Siena. For those of you who were able to be there it was an exciting end with the winning goal just 4 minutes into sudden death overtime. Our players were so excited to see all of you there
and as my captain said to them during the pre-game huddle "Look at them out there, if you can¹t get up to play in this atmosphere then you never will". They definitely believe that YOU ALL made the difference! It was a lot of fun for us and hope it was for you too. We invite you to come to another game this season and fro those who weren't able to go come to your first. We
have a lot of home games coming up in October so check out our schedule on-line at www.gorhody.com.
By the way, I spent part of the afternoon Sunday, like many of you, watching my own son and daughter playing at Ninigret Park. What a site with all the fields going, the smiling faces and the supportive parents. It reinforced why I love doing what I do. Thanks to all the people who came up and tell me how much they enjoyed being at the game and lending support to the program and what we are trying to do. It was nice to meet so many supporters of URI and the game of soccer itself. I am really looking forward to bringing the
team over to 12 Noon. The guy's will be there to meet you, show you some of their talents and even join in on some of the games. There will be some give-a-ways and autographs so we hope to see you!
Thanks again and we¹ll see you next week.
